The recently renovated apartment House of Books is perfect for a couple visiting Florence and set on enjoying the best that the city of the Renaissance offers. While it is just outside of the historical center, this means it is perfect for anyone that arrives with a car and doesn't want to deal with the dreaded driving ZTL zone while still being walking distance from the main sights in the Oltrarno and in the historical center.

With a full kitchen, spacious living area and bathroom on the first level, the open loft area has a double bed and desk to make your rest comfortable after a day sightseeing. Best of all are the views from the terrace (shared) that has wonderful views of the Duomo, perfect for enjoying either breakfast or a drink before setting out for dinner.... or cooking a meal in the apartment!

The open space living area has a modern kitchen (with a coffee machine, electric kettle, induction hob, microwave oven and dishwasher) and a full size sofa bed with a large smart TV with Netflix, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. A short flight of stairs takes you up into the loft area, where wooden floors, a double bed and desk and lots of books call to you to relax and unwind.

The apartment shares a terrace at the top of the 19th century palace from which you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the center of Florence, where the Duomo and tower of Palazzo Vecchio stand over the surrounding buildings.

The terrace offers lounge chairs as well as tables and chairs where you can enjoy a glass of wine as you admire the views!

Perfect Location: Close but not too close

House of Books is on the second floor, with an easy flight of stairs up. Its location just outside of the historical center is great for anyone arriving in Florence with a car as there is parking on the street below the apartment and parking lots nearby. The apartment is outside the ZTL limited traffic zone so there is no worry about driving into an off-limits area.

The surrounding area, the Oltrarno, has a lot of quaint shops and boutiques and is home to many of Florence's remaining artisans, as well as the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens. The area has many restaurants, pizzerias and trattorias for enjoying a meal out, as well as pubs and cafés where you can enjoy a delicious cappuccino, glass of wine or pint of beer. Or enjoy sititting and people watching in Piazza Santo Spirito, where you can also find an outdoor daily morning market.

Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo and the main sights in Florence are not far away, but if you don't feel like walking, public transport is easy to use. You can get quicker to sights such as the Duomo and museums like the Accademia and Uffizi, to Piazzale Michelangelo for the views over the city or to Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens for a day outdoors in a Renaissance era Italian garden. The bus also takes you right to the SMN train station which you can then use to do day trips out of Florence, including to Pisa, Lucca, Siena or San Gimignano, to name just a few.
