Casa Nigro is situated in the historic area that once belonged to the Abbey of San Salvatore and Lorenzo and that nowadays belongs to town of Scandicci. The Abbey is a large monastic complex very important from both historical and artistic point of view. The Abbey controlled the surrounding territory and was very powerful to the point that an important village grew close to it.
