A Villa with History

Agriturismo La Topaia with its B&B rooms and mini suites, dates back to medieval times, during the 13th and 14th centuries and is the heart of the farmstead. Built in various stages during the course of the years, the manor house was the only building on the farm until the 1800s. After this a large farmhouse, barn and loggia were added creating a strange floorplan that adds character to the building.

Villa La Topaia is known in literary circles for having provided the setting for the poet Dino Campana and the writer Sibilla Aleramo while she was a guest at La Topaia. In the letters exchanged by the lovers, the villa is often cited. The picturesque setting of sunflowers, vineyards and the scenic hills of Mugello were a an inspiration not only to the passionate love story but also their literary works.

Comfort in the Garden

The ample grounds are well maintained and compliment the green surroundings in the middle of Mugello. Daniella and her husband have included a large gazebo in front of the villa where evening meals are served and small parties can be arranged. Here you become part of the scenery and can truly enjoy the fresh air and fields of sunflowers, grain and more.  Their son, Matteo handles the poolside bar with cold drinks and light snacks during the day, a romantic covered area in the garden for reading the newspaper or relaxing after a long afternoon exploring the countryside. There is private car parking close to the villa.
