From landscape to hospitality, from culture to culinary, from history to relax.  Restored to maintain the original structure and to highlight the natural beauty that surrounds it, the owners of these vacation apartments took care to show off the sun-drenched position of Il Defizio.  These holiday rentals offer a combination of B&B rooms, fully equipped self-catering apartments and independent bungalows for a fun and relaxing stay in Tuscany.  It would be easy to stay poolside admiring the lush green gardens or relax in the attractive rooms, decorated in luminous colors and natural wood accents but the position offers the possibility of exciting nearby day trips.

Il Defizio is divided into B&B rooms and self-catering holiday rentals which means that it is versatile and adapts to your vacation needs.  Each room is totally unique with colorful throw rugs, artwork and terracotta accents.  For those who like to spoil themselves, there a total of 6 rooms with B & B service, each of which boasts an en suite bathroom, Satellite TV, mini bar, safety deposit box and air conditioning.  Choose from four standard rooms, with just over 15 square meters or two junior suite, approximately 24 square meters.

If a private garden area, a living room to relax in and the possibility to experiment with the Italian cuisine is your type of vacation then choose from 4 apartments for 2 to 6 persons each (Fortunale, Connubio, Pertugio and Cavezza-Serfico) and 3 independent bungalows (Casalino, Discosto & Elitropia)  complete with a fully equipped kitchen, Satellite TV, safety deposit box and air conditioning.

Couples looking for a bit of romance, families with small children and groups will feel right at home while enjoying the authentic Tuscan atmosphere that Cristina, Roberta, Antonio and Andrea have created.  It is the little touches that make the difference; the romantic canopy beds in the junior suites, the top quality linens in the bedrooms, the comfortable sofas in the living room, the hardwood floors, the crystal stemware, the sparkling salt water pool.

Spoil yourself at Il Defizio

As you look over the grounds it is easy to appreciate the way il Defizio seems to be one with the panorama. The thriving garden areas appear to melt into the landscape, in fact you can barely tell where Il Defizio ends and nature takes over.  The salt water pool is the perfect refreshing treat after soaking up some Tuscan sun and makes an ideal backdrop to evenings spent watching the sunset.  This warm and welcoming atmosphere is found throughout the structure – in the rooms, the apartments, the restaurant, by the pool and in the private garden areas.

The owners cater to those looking to spoil themselves and they offer breakfast buffets , cocktails at sunset and a genuine homemade meals for dinner & lunch – but it’s not necessary to stay in the B&B section to take advantage of these homemade specialties. Upon request, even guests staying in the apartments can partake of the abundant breakfast buffet (10€ adults, 6€ children and under 6 for free) or light lunch and every Monday and Thursday one can reserve dinner (approx 25€) to taste the local specialties.

Just a short distance from home it is possible to experience the authentic feel of Tuscany because Il Defizio is surrounded by stunning landscapes and many points of interest.  The position is only a short distance from Gambassi Terme, well known for its healing waters or stroll around the quaint monastery of Montignoso, only 6 km from the vacation apartments.  San Gimignano and Certaldo are well known for their enchanting atmosphere, quaint city streets, restaurants and shops.

Firmly nestled in the center of Tuscany, Il Defizio can be found almost an equal distance from the classical “must sees” like Pisa and Chianti.  Visit museums and antique churches, stroll the quite back alleys, shop at the local markets or picnic in one of the many parks within the city centers; the possibilities are endless.  These vacation rentals and B&B rooms are the perfect recipe for taking the best of the countryside typical to Tuscany while making the famous cities of Florence and Siena accessible.
